Two New Tools for Amazon Associates - Fri, 11 Jun 2010

For Lensmasters that like to put their own Amazon links on their lens, here are two new tools to help improve click-through rates and sales. First up, is the large "poster style" banner ad for any product you want to promote, with a bold call-to-action.

The second tool will generate banner ads for categories on Amazon. Loosely based on the Carousel widget, these banners are fully compatible with Squidoo, and are optimised for the width of lenses.

If you use the Amazon Link Generator, then you'll be interested to know that I've added some effects to the product images. You can now select to have borders and/or shadows (or neither) when you generate links for your lenses. Here are some examples of how they will look.

Dual-Nationality Amazon Links - Thu, 25 Feb 2010

There is a modified version of the Amazon Link Generator which will create links that automatically detect where your visitors are coming from. Visitors from the UK will see prices in pounds and will be redirected to Amazon.co.uk, while everyone else will see prices in dollars and links will go to Amazon.com.

If you use the Amazon Link tool, then you need to check this:
» Amazon Link Error Report.

All you need to is login with your Lensmaster name. The report shows links that are pointing to products that have been changed or deleted, and flags these up to you. It will also tell you which lenses these links are on, so you can then go to your workshop and fix them.

If you don't, you could be missing out on revenue!
