Another Poem Added - Little Trotty Wagtail - Thu, 24 Feb 2011

This is the first line of a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. It is called The Arrow and the Song and I've just added to Classic Poems for Kids. I hope you enjoy it.

New Poem on Classic Poems for Kids - Mon, 13 Apr 2009
Not to be confused with Classic Funny Poems for Kids, this lens has a new poem by Sir Walter de la Mare called Some One. It's a little scary but I'm sure that most of today's children will not be frightened by it. I hope you agree.

Poem added to Classic Poems for Kids - Tue, 24 Feb 2009
The new poem is The Zoo by William Makepeace Thackeray and, although very short, it captures the breathless thrill of a child seeing wild animals in a zoo for the first time.

New - Classic Poems for Kids - Fri, 24 Oct 2008
This is a companion for Classic Funny Poems for Kids and, like those, the poems are all ones I remember from childhood. They include poets like John Masefield, Robert Louis Stevenson and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Poetry includes Sea Fever, The Smuggler's Song and The Village Blacksmith. I hope you enjoy them.
