This was the first lens that I ever published.  It was on July 20, 2008 and I wanted to try to get our Friends of the Park as a Squidoo Charity and use the lens as our main website since we couldn't afford to set one up otherwise.  My dream came true at the first of this month with us becoming an official Squidoo Charity and then today this lens received a Purple Star.  I am so thrilled and so proud of all our wonderful volunteers that make up this organization.  Thank you to...

Our Friends of the Park organization now has it's 501c3 status. Previously we were a part of a larger organization but have become strong enough to be independent. I am excited because now I can apply for us to be a Squidoo Charity and hope you will consider us when setting your royalties if we are accepted. Thank you and I will keep you updated.

FOTP will meet on the National Day of Service this year - Mon, 04 Jan 2010

Our Friends of the Park organization is choosing our 2008 Volunteers of the Year and are using the poll vote on the lens. I sure hope it keeps working. I have had problems with the poll in the past. Please take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks
